✔️ Indication of Dupalaki 100

Ciprofibrate is used as an adjunct to diet, exercise, and weight reduction for managing certain lipid disorders. Its indications include:

• Severe hypertriglyceridemia with or without low HDL cholesterol.
• Mixed hyperlipidemia, especially when statins are contraindicated or not tolerated.

✔️ Pharmacology

Ciprofibrate works by lowering levels of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and VLDL (very low-density lipoprotein), which in turn reduces triglycerides and cholesterol levels associated with these lipoproteins. It also increases HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels. Ciprofibrate is effective in treating hyperlipidemia, reducing the risk of coronary heart disease events.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Dupalaki 100

• Adults: The usual dose is 100 mg daily. This should not be exceeded.
• Renal impairment: For moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30-80 ml/min/1.73 m²), reduce the dose to one tablet every other day. Ciprofibrate should be avoided in severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 ml/min/1.73 m²).
• Hepatic impairment: Use with caution, and discontinue if AST/ALT levels exceed three times the upper limit of normal or if cholestatic liver injury occurs.
• Elderly: The same dosage as adults, but extra precautions should be taken for individuals over 70 years old.
• Children: Not recommended due to lack of safety and efficacy data.

• Other fibrates & statins: Combining Ciprofibrate with fibrates or HMG CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) can increase the risk of myopathy, rhabdomyolysis, and myoglobinuria.
• Oral anticoagulants: Ciprofibrate may enhance the effects of oral anticoagulants. Dose adjustment and monitoring (INR) are required.
